Costume Designer Sara Jane Slotnick combines her painting/artistic background
with her sewing skills to make Sissy's Felt Club, a joyous one-of-a-kind, line of felt
accessories including purses, belts, hairpieces and baby slippers, called "Cubbies". The "Cubbies" line of baby slippers is actually based on her lovely dog Cubbie, whose face inspired the dog
and bone motif on the slippers. Each pair of "Cubbies" has elastic across the top arch to hold them on and can be worn with or without socks. The bottoms of each slipper are quilted, and the edges are hand-laced with embroidery thread. There are no glues or toxic substances used and they fit newborn babies up to one year. Because each one is individually crafted they all vary, each of them is a one-of-a-kind piece of art. Made with love and joy.
Sara Jane lives in Hollywood, and continues to work in
movies. Her credits include: "Alpha Dog", "Death Race", "The Astrounaut Farmer", and most
recently "The Job", directed by playwright Shem Bitterman.
